Richardson, Albert S. Jr. 92 of Lexington, August 19, 2016. Beloved husband of Phyllis E. (Brosnahan) Richardson. Father of John Richardson of Bedford, Elaine Richardson of Boston, Mark Richardson and his wife Marie of Stanford, CT, and Paul Richardson and his wife Charlotte of Winchester. Brother of the late Jane Doll and Jack Richardson. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Connor, Sydney, and Emily, and by many nieces and nephews. Born in Canton OH, Albert attended MIT through the V12 program of the US Navy where he obtained two degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and started his career as executive officer of the Aeroelastic Laboratory. An expert in the fields of vibration, galloping, structural loading and aerodynamics, Albert consulted for the utility industry and undertook numerous R&D projects for industry, government and professional organizations including USDOE, NSF and IEEE. Mr. Richardson holds over 30 patents and trademarks and has authored over 80 technical papers on the subject of galloping. He is the founder and president of AR Products LLC and Research Consulting Associates. Albert is a life member of IEEE, ASME and CIGRE. A life-long golfer, Albert discovered the love of the game caddying at Brookside CC in Canton OH, improved his game as manager of the MIT golf team, in 1967 was the club champion at Lexington Golf Club. Albert was a member of Winchester Country Club, Mid Ocean Club and Naples National in Florida. A WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, he was deployed on the USS Cole on convoy to Casablanca. Moving to Lexington in 1956, Al and Phyllis were active in the growing Lexington catholic community at St. Brigid's Parrish. He was a Town Meeting Member in the 1960s and 1970s. Visiting hours are 4-8pm on Monday August 22 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington. Funeral will be Tuesday Aug. 23 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
