Obituary

Albert J. Santamaria, Jr., age 77, of Lexington, MA.  He was a loving and devoted husband of 54 years to Dianne Santamaria.  He passed away peacefully, at his home, on October 23, 2024.  Born on February 3, 1947, to Albert and Florence Santamaria, Albert was born and raised in Belmont, MA before moving to Lexington in 1973.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Albert and his fiancée Tricia Bouchie and her children Erin, Ryan and Samantha of Wilbraham, MA; Adrienne (Santamaria) Ortyl and her husband Michael of Lexington, MA; Michael and his wife Nicole of Burlington, MA; his beloved grandchildren, Abbie and Sophie Ortyl of Lexington, MA, and Michael, Bella and Anni Santamaria of Burlington, MA; his sister, Linda (Santamaria) DaCorta and her husband Stephen of South Boston, MA; his brother, Peter and his wife Sandra, of Tewksbury, MA; brother-in-law, James DiSilva and his wife Maureen, of Lexington, MA; his sisters-in-law Valerie DiSilva of Lexington, MA, Elaine McCullough of Lexington, MA, Maryanne Belanger and her husband William of Winchester, MA, and Joannie Woods and her partner Brian Toomey of Woburn, MA, as well as his many treasured nieces, nephews and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Eleanor DiSilva; his brother, Edward of Belmont, MA; and brothers-in-law Thomas DiSilva and Robert McCullough, both of Lexington, MA.

Affectionally known as "Big Al" by his family and friends, Albert was a naturally caring, kind and generous person.  He was someone who celebrated with you in good times; but was also someone you could lean on in trying times. He shared his quick wit, sage advice and caring nature with all around him.  He delighted in attending his grandkids school events and sports games and celebrating their various milestones.  In addition to spending time with his cherished family, Albert enjoyed playing racquetball, golf and cards with family and friends.  He worked for many years with his family at the DiSilva Companies and was an active member of Oakley Country Club. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
