Obituary

JACKSON, Alfred W. Formerly of Lexington, left us with the Grace of God, Dec. 28, 2012, at the age of 89 in Cottage Hospital with devoted friend and caregiver Maxine LaDouceur and her husband Leo by his side. Alfred was orphaned and blissfully adopted at a very young age. He served his nation proudly in WWII in the Navy, stationed abroad. He was the beloved husband of the late Ida Jackson, loving father of the late Maryann Jackson, devoted companion of the late Ilse Borth and proud brother of the late George, Philip, Mary, Alfreda, and Edward. He leaves to mourn his passing Loretta (Jackson) Baldwin (niece) and an immeasurable number of nieces, nephews, extended family and adored friends who were ever vigilant of his needs such as Christine Druke, Debbie Pierson, and Terill Douglas. Alfred loved nature and caring for God's earthly gifts. His job as supervisor and groundskeeper for Harvard/Radcliff campus was a beloved and proud occupation. A memorial service will be held Wednesday November 6 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation prior to service from 10am to 11am. He wished for contributions to be made to The Home For Little Wanderers, 271 Huntington Ave. Boston, MA 02115 (www.thehome.org/tribute). Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
