Farhang Ali Sadeghpour, 84, of Lexington, MA passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 1, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Trudy (McCaul) Sadeghpour, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.  Ali is survived by Trudy Sadeghpour, of Lexington, his son, Michael Sadeghpour and his wife Elena of Duxbury, and his daughter Adriana Robinson of Boston, as well as grandchildren David and his wife Kelsey Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Jack Sadeghpour, Kate Robinson and Michael Robinson, in addition to great grandson Crosby Robinson.  For anyone who knew Ali, family was one of Ali's greatest loves and pride in life. Ali was predeceased by his brothers Jamshid and Houshang and his sisters, Parvin and Shaheen.

Ali was born in 1939 in Iran, the son of the late Ferdoes Hamadi and Taghi Sadeghpour.  He grew up in Tehran and began sketching at an early age and attended the renowned Tehran's Institute of Fine Arts. He immigrated to the United States in 1963 to start a family with Trudy.  Ali personified the definition of a true Renaissance man, as evidenced by his vast knowledge and prolific accomplishments in the world of art, music, writing and poetry.   He was a talented calligrapher and a member of the International Poet's Society where his work was included in the society's anthologies in the late 1990's and his paintings are on display in a variety of settings and locations. He authored many articles on Persian history and translated many Persian classics.  For years he was regularly interviewed as an expert on these topics on Persian radio.  He was a gifted athlete, having wrestled internationally at the highest levels, an accomplished soccer player, as well as a formidable tennis player throughout his adult years.

Ali was an entrepreneur and owned Persepolis Oriental Rugs in Wellesley and Wakefield opened for over 25 years.  Ali's pride and joy were his family, his wife, children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He delighted in family holidays and cherished his time with his children and grandchildren.

In accordance with Mr. Sadeghpour's wishes, services were private. Donations may be made in his memory to Azadi Magazine (Pars Mass Media Inc. PO Box 455 Westwood, MA 02090) where he served as a writer and consultant to the publisher for many years.  The family is planning a celebration of Ali's beautiful life to be held within the next few months.
