Amelia (Molly) Bergmann, of Lexington, passed away on June 7 after a battle with cancer.
Molly was born in Philadelphia. She graduated from Germantown (PA) Friends School, Lawrence University in Wisconsin, and Columbia University, and pursued a career in occupational therapy, concluding in 14 years work with elementary-age children in Lexington, where she had lived since 1980.
Music played a central part in her life. She participated as a French horn player in the Brookline Symphony, the Metrowest Symphony, the Wellesley Symphony, the Lincoln-Sudbury Civic Orchestra, and many others. She and her husband, Jake, a violinist, passed on that love to their daughters Lisa (oboe) and Julie (voice). She loved to travel and was at home everywhere she went.
She is survived by a loving family including her husband, sisters Susie Holahan of New Haven CT, Lucy Nattrass of Hale, United Kingdom, and Connie McCann of Bryn Mawr PA; daughters Lisa of New Haven and Julie (Bergmann) Molina of Germantown MD; two grandsons, and 20 nephews and nieces.
A memorial service of her life will be celebrated at the Follen UU Church in Lexington on June 28 at 10am..
