Anne Gans Davies passed away peacefully on March 30, 2016, at the age of 87. She was born on February 10, 1929, in Hartford, CT, the daughter of Rachel and George Gans. She graduated from Radcliffe College in 1950, and received a degree in Library Science from Simmons College in 1966. Over her career she worked as a librarian, editor, fundraiser, and writer of satiric verse. She loved traveling, writing, scrabble, and her many wonderful, life-long friends. She was sharp-witted and funny, and her spiritedness and humor were enjoyed by many.
She married John L. Davies in 1953, with whom she had a loving and playful relationship for sixty-three years until his death four months ago. They have two children, Michael and Julia (Alejandro Uribe). She loved her children and adored her grandchildren, Andres and Lily.
