OSBORN, Anne deWitt Pell "Nancy" Died peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Brookhaven in Lexington, Massachusetts, with family members present. She was born in New York City on January 14, 1918 to the late Elsie Dominick Pell and James Duane Pell. She grew up in Manhattan and Esopus, NY, attending the Brearley and Julliard Schools. She married Frederick H. Osborn Jr., of Garrison, New York, on January 10, 1942. They moved to Philadelphia where they raised 5 children before returning to Garrison in 1968. Nancy was widowed in 1982 and moved to Lexington, Mass in 1999. Nancy was known for her love her music, especially the opera, and enjoyed singing madrigals and playing recorders with various groups. She had a passion for, and an encyclopedic knowledge of birds, and worked diligently with several organizations committed to environmental preservation. She is survived by four of her five children, fifteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 8th, at Brookhaven At Lexington, 1010 Waltham St., Lexington, at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences, 125 Manomet Point Road, Plymouth, MA 02360
