Beloved husband of the late Helen (Stevens) Bernier and the late Madonna (Guckien-Wright) Bernier.

Loving and devoted father of Arthur T Bernier, Jr of Essex (late Jayne), Leslie Leary of Lexington (Mike), Stephanie Yirikian (Dick) of Winchester, Christopher Bernier (Karen) of Essex, Helen Chiasson (late Carl) of Burlington, James Bernier (Maria) of Pittsburg, PA.  Step-father of Zach Wright (Kim) of Portland, Oregon, and Anastacia Wells (Christopher) of Hamilton, New York.

He is survived by 16 cherished grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and dear friends Mary Hagen and Pat Frasca.

Arthur was predeceased by his devoted sisters and brother and their spouses, Lorraine Campbell (Paul),

Jeanne LaPlace (Desmond), William Bernier (Judy) and Dianne Vultaggio (Mario).

Arthur was known for his warmth, kindness and interest in others. The greatest joy of Arthur's life was his family. He was ever grateful for the "goodness" he saw in the people in his life. He didn't hesitate to voice his appreciation and pride in his loved ones, down thru all generations and the whole extended family.

Professionally, Arthur served in the US Coast Guard for 4 years and then went onto to earn a degree in economics at Boston University in 1960. Ever entrepreneurial, business was his passion. He owned and operated the Lightning Solvent Corporation for many years. In his later years, he was a stock trader.

Arthur enjoyed traveling, tennis, marathon running. He also loved flying and was pleased to get his pilot's license later in life and enjoyed flying up the New England coast.

He wintered in Bradenton, FL for many years.

Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington, Saturday, November 18th at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 10am. Visiting hours, Friday November 17 from 5pm to 8pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

A private burial will be held on a later date at Mt. Adnah Cemetery in Annisquam, MA.
