Arthur Chin, a longtime resident of Arlington, passed away peacefully in his home on January 27, 2021 at the age of 92. A devoted family man, he was blessed to be  surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Hyannis, MA. At three months old, he travelled to Guangdong, China and lived most of his childhood there until returning to the United States at 14 years old. He was a devoted husband for over 70 years to Fai Jean, and beloved father of Sue Ann Ponte and husband Albano, Carlton Chin and wife Patti, Kenneth Chin and wife Nancy, and Edna Lee and husband Thomas.

Arthur leaves 12 grandchildren and their spouses: Iris and husband John, Adam and wife Amanda, Curtis and wife Ashley, Zoe, Kenzie, Zachary and wife Songyi, Jeremy and wife Sarah Jane, Joshua, Jonathan, Kathryn, Aaron, and Nathaniel. He also leaves three great grandchildren: William, Charles, and Arthur.

Arthur worked as a laundryman, waiter, and restaurateur of China Gold in West Roxbury for over 30 years. He worked tirelessly supporting his family and provided each of his children with college educations. Even though he worked long hours, he always made time to spend with family and friends, enjoying countless meals, traveling, and Cape Cod Clan vacations. He will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and quiet support.

Baptized at 90 years old, we celebrate Arthur's ascension to heaven into the arms of our Lord where he will rest in eternal peace.

A private visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Douglass Funeral Home in Lexington from 9-11am. A private family service will be held at 11am. Although the service is private, family and friends may participate by connecting to the following link:
