Antonyan, Ashot of Armenia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July, 10 2020 after years of battling diabetes and later cancer. Ashot was a loved husband of 38 years to Ruzanna Muradyan. Cherished son of Araxia Sahakyan and Hovhanes Antonyan of Northridge, CA. Loving father of Lilit Antonyan and her husband Vaghtang Arakelyan of Armenia and Sona Antonyan and her husband Tigran Avetisyan of Lexington.
Devoted brother of Ruzanna Antonyan of Northridge, CA and Anna Antonyan of Armenia. Ashot is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Narek, Davit, Ashot, and Anna, and by many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life Ashot's generosity, honesty and warmth continually won him respect, loyalty and trust. Ashot was a retired firefighter and a mentor to many young firefighters in Armenia. He was always surrounded by many great friends and loving family and was always bringing light and laughs to any company due to his striking sense of humor. Ashot was happy because he loved and he was loved. Ashot will be deeply missed and forever remembered as someone larger than life.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service that will be held Saturday July 25 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 10:30am. Visitation will start prior to the service from 9:30am to 10:30am. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington. After funeral there will be an outdoors reception in memory of Ashot Antonyan at 428 Lowell St., Lexington.
