Barbara Y. T. Lee
Barbara Lee, of Lexington and Arlington, MA, died peacefully on February 10th, 2025, following a fall in her residence and several days in hospice care. Her sons and their families were at her side as she neared the end of her life.
She was the wife of the late Ging S. Lee and is survived by sons Eric Lee, his wife Mary of Lexington, and David Lee, his wife Rachel of Waltham, grandchildren Brendan, Fiona, Paige, and Carson, brother James Lim, his wife Margaret of Watertown, her brother's widows Lorraine Lim and Haulin Lim, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Harold, John, and Robert.
A graduate of Somerville High School, she had deep roots in the Boston area, first working at her family's restaurant in Davis Square, many years at New England Telephone, and then many years as a teachers' aide in the Lexington Public Schools. In her retirement, she volunteered quite a bit and was involved with the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, in addition to being a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many around her.
Visitation: Monday, February 17th, from 4 to 7 PM at Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., Lexington, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center. https://bcnc.net/donate
Burial: Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Boston, MA, on Tuesday, February 18th. Family and friends are invited to gather at the entrance gate at 11 AM.
