Our loving Mother Barbara (MacPherson) Skinner went to be with the Lord on

She was born on May 18, 1925, in Boston MA, to the late Malcom MacPherson

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Russell F Skinner on
January 31, 2001. He is still dearly missed and will be waiting to greet her in
Heaven.

Barbara truly loved life and spending time with her family and many friends. She
loved making and creating things. She created and sewed original, handmade
stuffed animals for all her grandchildren as well as quilts and knitted items.
We all share fond memories of getting together with Mom & Dad (Grampy &
Grandma) for Christmas and Easter every year at their home in Lexington MA.
Weekends during the Summer were spent with them at their house on Great East
Lake in NH.
One of Mom's dreams was to travel with Dad, but when he passed away suddenly
in 2001, she went on to travel by herself to Scotland, England and Spain. She
also spent many winters in Hilton Head, SC.
Not only was she a wonderful Mom, selflessly serving her family, but she was a
faithful servant of Jesus and her church family at Park Street Church.
Barbara was a 70+ year member of Park Street Church, Boston MA. She baked
the communion bread for 30 years. She was an active participant in the "FOCUS"
international student ministry at the church. She extended her hospitality to
many international students and missionary families over the years.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at Douglas Funeral Home,
Lexington MA at 10:00 AM, followed by a service of thanksgiving and celebration
of Barbara's life at 11:00 AM, August 7, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, we would request donations be made on her behalf to:
