Burke, Barry E. of Lexington, Sept. 7, 2021. Beloved husband of Mary Lou (Kollasch) Burke. Loving father of Paul K. Burke and his wife Emily of Burlington, and Karen E. Burke of Somerville. Devoted brother of Susan Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and the late Kevin Burke, Sarah Burke, and Alan Burke. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Barry was an engineer at MIT Lincoln Lab for 52 years, designing advanced imaging devices that remain in use in both ground- and satellite-based telescopes, aiding our understanding of cosmic phenomena. He is remembered as a diligent scientist and a deeply kind man.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday Sept. 11 at Sacred Heart Church, 21 Follen Rd. Lexington at 1:00pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
