Bernard J "BJ" Rudman passed away on December 16th, after a short illness.

BJ always worked to be a mensch, in the proud tradition of his father, Louis Rudman, and his uncle, Mike Rosenberg. He was a kind, modest, thoughtful, generous and affable person, with a deep social conscience. He felt very fortunate to have his family; he's survived by his adored wife, Lisa Boodman, their daughter Sarah, son Jonah and his wife Stacy, and his two incredible grandsons, Holden and Lincoln. BJ also leaves a niece and several nephews, the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of his adored sisters Estelle and Maxine and their husbands Irv Epstein and Irvin "Sonny" Switow.

BJ followed domestic politics closely, and had a keen interest in US history, with an eye to better understand the present by learning about the past. He also loved music, particularly jazz and rock, and was an avid Boston Celtics fan.

BJ was inspired by President John F Kennedy, and the events of the 1960s, to a career in government and public service. After earning a MBA from Harvard, BJ served as a senior manager in several Massachusetts State Government agencies under governor Michael Dukakis, and as CFO of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and of YouthBuild USA. He was also a part-time instructor of undergraduate and graduate economics at Harvard University and Boston University. In retirement, he chaired the Board of Trustees of the Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School, and volunteered as a Representative Payee in Money Management Program, administered by Minuteman Senior Services.

BJ will be privately interred in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA; a Celebration of Life will be held at Newbury Court in Concord MA, in early January.
