Betty Barrett, 90, of Arlington, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Marie (Pierro) and William Barrett. Betty grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, surrounded by a large extended family, and later made her home in Arlington, where she lived for many years.

Betty is survived by her brother, William Barrett, and his wife, Jean; her sister-in-law, Mary Barrett; her nieces and nephews, Gil Barrett, Matt Barrett, Wendy Barrett, Michelle Hannon, and Colleen Cournoyer; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also lovingly remembered by her cousins, Barbara Carasitti and Rita Taylor. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Barrett, as well as her cousins Walter Cooke, Richard Boisvert, and William Pierro.

Betty worked for many years at the phone company, where she served as a supervisor and formed lifelong friendships. Together with her friends, she shared many joyful adventures, including purchasing a home in the White Mountains, where they spent countless days skiing. Their travels also took them skiing throughout Europe and the Rocky Mountains.

When she wasn't on the slopes, Betty enjoyed golfing as a member of a local league and participated in a bowling league as well. A devoted sports fan, she held season tickets to the Boston Bruins during Bobby Orr's era and was also an avid New England Patriots fan.

Betty was an active and faithful member of Saint Eulalia's Parish in Winchester, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Above all, she cherished time spent with family and eagerly looked forward to gatherings and celebrations. Warm, welcoming, and known for her contagious smile and wonderful sense of humor, Betty loved being with others and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday January 23 at St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St. in Winchester at 11am. Visitation immediately prior to the Mass at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 9:30am to 10:45am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Betty's memory.
