Bhavani Viswanathan of Lexington, MA, aged 91, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 after a brief illness.   She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, L. Viswanathan She leaves behind her daughter Asha Ramesh and her husband Ramesh Ratnam of Lexington MA; her son, V.S. Mani and his wife Shampa Chanda of Long Island City, NY; her grandson Manu Ramesh of Lexington, MA; her grandson Askhay Bharadwaj, his wife Swati Padakanti of Austin, TX and their children, her great-grandchildren, Tara and Rohan.

Bhavani was born in Tamil Nadu, India and was educated and raised in Madras (now Chennai), India where she lived for many years   For the last 25 years she had made Lexington her home where she lived with her daughter.

She shared her life with loving siblings, nephews and nieces in addition to her immediate family and was generous with her time and energy with numerous friends that she came across.   Everyone who came across her was struck by her kindness, gentleness and friendliness. She was well known in her family and friends circle for her wonderful cooking, knitting, and needlework skills.  Her simple enjoyment of daily life and her beautiful smile will be missed by all.
