Obituary

Plante, Blanche, SGM (99) died on October 5, 2009 at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA. Sr. Plante was born in St. Denis sur Richelieu, Quebec, Canada on June 18, 1910, one of seven children of parents Napoleon and Epelina Plante. Sr. Plante was 26 years old when she entered the sisters of Charity of Montreal, "Grey Nuns" in 1939. Her entire religious life was then spent in nursing the sick which she did with calm acceptance and a loving heart. She gave 41 years of devoted service at the Grey Nuns Infirmary as a nurse's aide caring for the sick and elderly sisters of the congregation at the Provincial House, now Youville Place Assisted Living Residence, Lexington, MA, until her retirement in 1993. Her peaceful and prayerful spirit will be remembered with joy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sr. Plante on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 12:15pm in Youville Place Assisted Living Residence, 10 Pelham Rd. Lexington, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, MA. Visitation Friday prior to mass 9:30 - 11:00 AM. Sr. Plante leaves behind her loving nephews Leo Farrand and wife Jan, Roger Farrand and wife Marge, both of Southbridge, MA, Paul Farrand and wife Marie of Sante Fe, New Mexico, and nieces Sr. Claire Robert of Petersham, MA, and Mrs. Madelyn Drezeck and husband James Drezeck of Rutland, MA.
