Carl "Ted" Lind passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born in Everett, MA on June 17, 1940, the eldest son of Frances and Francis Lind.
Ted was a graduate of Arlington High School, Dartmouth College, and Harvard Business
School. Prior to business school, he served as a Lieutenant in the Army, stationed in
Stuttgart, Germany.
Professionally Ted served in several long-tenured leadership positions, primarily in
manufacturing, including Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, The Foxboro Company, and
Neslab Instruments, before ultimately starting his own management consulting company
in the final decade of his professional career. In addition, he cherished the team and his
role as Chairman of the Board of Web Industries.
Ted's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was married to his wife
Diane for over 62 years. She was his steady partner as they raised three children, Chris
Ann, Peter, and Jonathan. For the past 23 years, Ted assumed one of his favorite titles of
all time - "Grandpa/FarFar/Grampi" - a grandfather to six granddaughters. He loved
making pancakes, reading books, being silly and dancing with his beloved
granddaughters - Sofia, Caleigh, Mackenzie, Hanna, Teagan and Maureen.
Ted's Christian faith was a core guiding principal in his life. He was a lifelong member of
the Covenant Church as well as Bethany Church, in Greenland NH. His favorite spots in
life were Pilgrim Pines and the cottage in Mattapoisett.
He was at once an accomplished business leader and a humble presence. He was much
more impressed with substance over style and took joy in little things like McDonald's
iced mochas, homemade cookies, Swedish Smorgasbords, and a completed Saturday
chore list. He was someone who loved his family, cared deeply about people, recognized
leadership is about responsibility not authority, and stood for integrity in all things. His
was a life well lived.
A Celebration of Life for Ted will be held Saturday February 28th at 2pm at New
Covenant School, 7 Clematis Road, Lexington. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Pines, 220 West Shore Drive,
West Swanzey, NH 03446.
