Obituary

Maglitta, Carmen T. (Tedoldi) of Lexington, Dec. 21, 2010. Wife of the late Gerald R. Maglitta. Mother of June Kazes and her husband John of Rockport, Joseph Maglitta and his wife Leslie of Cambridge, Gerald M. Maglitta and his wife Naoke of Hopedale, John Maglitta and his wife Maria of South Grafton, Jean Sullivan and her husband Ken of Methuen, and Carol Maglitta and her husband Earl Larson of Somerville. Carmen is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Alexander, Elaina, Gerald, Jacob, Juliet, Giancarlo, Dante, Christina, Angela, David, Joseph, and Peter. Friendly and humble, Carmen brought warm-hearted love to all she met, from her own family to children everywhere, her boloved cats, rescued animals, the unfortunate, and strangers whom she delighted with her cheery chat and smile. She loved to sing and listen to Italian opera, garden, travel abroad, read European history, paint colorful landscapes, wander bookstores and swim in the ocean at Gloucester. Her actions taught those around her to forgive, forget, and to make peace, and about the importance of generosity and placing others first. Everyone loved Carmen; she will be deeply missed. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Wednesday Dec. 29 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm. Donations in her memory may be made to Saint Francis House, 39 Boylston St. Boston, MA 02116. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
