Barry, Catherine M. "Cathy", age 81, of Quincy, died peacefully on Jan. 23, 2024 after a brief illness. She was the cherished daughter of the late Fred and Agnes (Mulvihill) Barry and the beloved sister of Joan E. Barry.

Cathy had a large extended family. She grew up in Scituate, graduated from Scituate High School and worked in banking. She also lived in Braintree in a neighborhood she loved for many years, and recently in Quincy. In her retirement she was an avid reader and loved doing complicated puzzles.

A gathering to remember Cathy will be held on Thursday Feb. 1 at 2pm at the Hancock Park Assisted Living, 164 Parking Way in Quincy. Burial at Saint Mary of the Nativity Cemetery in Scituate will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boston Children's Hospital.
