Cathy Ann Tonne (Nichipor), of Acton and formerly of Lexington, passed away on March 9, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Margaret and Alexander Nichipor. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Michael W. Tonne; her son, Patrick Tonne, and his wife, Rachael, of Watertown; and her daughter, Kathleen Tonne, of Acton. She was the devoted sister of Michael Nichipor and his wife, Joan, of Avon, Indiana, and Mark Nichipor and his wife, Janine, of Ayer. She is also survived by her niece, Alexandra, and her nephews, Michael, Matthew, and Nathaniel.
A dedicated teacher and educator, Cathy touched many lives with her creativity, warmth, and thoughtful spirit. She spread kindness wherever she went and had a special gift for making others feel welcome and cared for. She found joy in simple pleasures, especially beach days in Ogunquit and cheering on the Red Sox. She loved welcoming family and friends into her home, where her thoughtful decorations for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions made every gathering feel warm and celebratory. Her beloved dog, Millie, was a cherished companion and a deeply loved part of her life.
Funeral services will be held from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington, on Monday, March 16, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington, at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
