Celia J. Wisenski, 87, formerly of Easthampton and Southampton, MA, passed away peacefully at the Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Lexington, MA on Saturday, October 19th. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Alexandra (Kowalczyk) Dlugozima of Easthampton.
Celia is predeceased by her late parents, two brothers, Chester and Alexander Jr., a sister, Jenny, her husband, Henry A Wisenski, and a son, Leonard.
As a life-long resident of Easthampton, Celia was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church and always looked forward to the "Polish" picnic each year. She enjoyed dancing the Polka and especially enjoyed the company of family and friends. Celia also loved living in Easthampton and looked forward to yearly fireworks and other community events. She had a group of childhood friends whom she remained connected to over the years.
Celia worked for many years at the Kellog Brush Company and during World War II worked at the Paragon Rubber Company and the Battery Shop. She took great pride in her work and her home.
Among her interests were baking bread, cooking, Red Sox baseball and UCONN Huskies girls' basketball. She watched their games regularly on television. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's extra-curricular and sporting events.
Celia is survived by her sister, Gladys Lithanstanski, two brothers, Stanley and Joseph Dlugozima, Mona Dlugozima of Southampton, Lucy Dlugozima of Connecticut, Paul Korpita of Sunderland, and Lillian Nieskoski of Ukiah, CA. She leaves her daughter, Dianne Reynolds, of Acton, MA, two dearly-loved grandchildren, Heather Haines and her husband Joshua of Acton, MA, and her grandson Andrew Reynolds and Jenny of Vassalboro, ME. She also leaves two great grandsons, Henry and William Haines, and several nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will take place at a future date. Donations may be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
