Fuller, Charles Elton, formerly of Melrose and Burlington and most recently of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2018. He was born in Brighton Massachusetts on March 27, 1934  to Bernard Forrest Fuller and Lillian Leona Garland Fuller. He was educated in the Melrose School System and graduated from Melrose High School in 1953.  He was an Ensign in the Coast Guard and Geodetic Survey in 1956 and in December of 1956 returned to Melrose to marry his childhood sweetheart, the former Irene Levy.  Following their honeymoon the newlyweds made their home in Somesville, ME until the Coast Guard transferred them to Norfolk, VA the following year. He received his BS in Civil Engineering in 1956 and his MS in Civil Engineering in 1968, both from Northeastern University and he had a career which spanned several decades concentrating in water supply, transmission, treatment, storage and distribution. He was a member of several civic, academic, and professional engineering societies. He was a member of Grace Chapel Lexington and was active in the sanctuary choir from 1980 to 2011.

He leaves behind daughter, Sheryl Fuller Hughes and son-in-law Jim of Derry NH,  a son, Scott Fuller and daughter-in-law Kathleen also of Derry NH and daughter, Dale Fuller Deane and son-in-law, Mark of Woburn MA, grandchildren Melissa Hughes and Heather Hughes Glynn; Christian and Ryan Fuller and Nicole, Andrew and Evan Deane  and 2 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his second wife and faithful friend, Gerry Fuller as well as his brother, David Fuller of Melrose MA and sister-in-law JoAnn, sister Joan McKenzie Ianacco and brother-in-law Ralph of Boston MA and Jupiter FL, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene, in 1988.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday October 11 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation Thursday, prior to the service, from 9am to 11am. Interment Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
