O'Brien, Charles F. JR of Burlington, formerly of Lexington, May 21, 2024. Father of Mathew C. O'Brien and his wife Eliza of Chelmsford, and Amy J. Murphy and her husband Thomas of Quincy. Former husband of Carol Montuori-Padvaiskas. Brother of Karen O'Brien Thomson and Donald Thomson of Winchester, Kathleen O'Brien Hobart and Rudolph Dunn of Stoneham, Patricia O'Brien DiSilva and Matt DiSilva of Reading, and the late Kevin O'Brien. He is also  survived by two grandchildren, Zachary and Charlotte. In addition, he was close with his multiple nieces and nephews, and his loyal best friends Mikey Down and Ken Demeo.

Chuck was an avid Bruins fan and lifelong hockey player who approached life like a slapshot from the point. He passed his love of hockey down to his children, teaching them the art of defending slapshots during numerous games of street hockey. Chuck was a car enthusiast who owned his own mechanic shop, Adams Service, in Newton for 20 years. He could often be found working with his hands, especially when he restored his high school car, a 1970 SS Chevy Nova. Chuck loved making his signature chili while listening to classic rock and preparing to spend time with his family and friends. He was caring and was the first phone call for many people when they needed help. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday May 29 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 4pm to 7pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
