O'Reilly, Charles Daniel of Lexington passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 1 after a long illness.  He was raised in Rockport, MA son of the late Charles A. and Frances O'Reilly and lived in Lexington more than 45 years.  He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Jill (Ruggeri), his son, Luke Carlos, and his daughter Rebecca.  He received his Bachelors degree from U Mass Amherst, Masters in Education from Harvard, Masters in Special Education from Northeastern.  He devoted himself to teaching, a profession he loved, and he was much loved by his students.  He spent over 35 years in the Lexington Public Schools teaching general science, special education, chemistry and physics.  His retirement years were spent bike riding, traveling and enjoying his family. Visiting hours at Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd, Lexington MA 02421 Thursday Sept. 6, 4pm to 7pm. Interment private.
