Obituary

SCHUH, Charles Frederick Jr. Passed away peacefully on January 11 at the age of 88. Loving brother of Ruth Schuh Kelley and the late Charlotte Schuh Taylor. Beloved uncle of Ruth Kelley Kissiah and her husband Herman, the late Robert "Bubby" Kelley, Diana Kelley LaMarca and her husband Joseph, Roberta Kelley Messina and her husband Anthony, Peter Kelley and his wife Beverly, David Taylor and his wife Ratna and the late Charles Taylor. Also survived by one great-niece, four great-nephews and two great-great nephews. Charles grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School in 1939. During World War II, from 1942 to 1946, he proudly served our country in the Army Air Force. Charles spent most of his career traveling the world as a purser on passenger and container ships. He lived in Dover, New Hampshire for many years but moved back to Lexington in 2004. He had an ear for music and an eye for art and developed a hobby and small business repairing fine crystal and china. He loved the ocean and was a downhill skier. Charles loved his cars and was often seen driving around town in one of his beloved convertibles. Charles lived at the Dana Home for several years before moving to Carleton Willard Village in Bedford in 2009. Charles was loved by, and devoted to, his family and he unselfishly fulfilled many roles within the family. He was also admired and respected by all his friends. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Services are private. Interment will be in the family plot at Westview Cemetery.
