Christine F. Tinstman, loving mother and grandmother, passed peacefully on July 27, 2022. Born on October 5, 1947, Christine was a longtime resident of Lexington, MA and most recently resided in Falmouth, MA and Boca Raton, FL.

Former wife of Carl Tinstman III and loving partner of David Chase, Christine raised two children. She is survived by her sister Wendy Totten, of Oceanside, CA. She leaves behind her daughter Kim Hine, son-in-law Chris Hine and two grandchildren Andrew and Austin, all of Lexington, MA, as well as son Lance Tinstman, daughter-in-law Leah Tinstman and grandson Lance Tinstman Jr., who reside in Costa Rica, and grandson Timothy Pepper and wife Stephanie of Quincy, MA. She also leaves two nieces, Kristi Petsche and Traci Brietenstine.

Christine was a Nurse Practitioner who cared for patients at Boston Medical Center for most of her career. She also was a nurse at the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Camp Nurse at Sandy Island YMCA Family Camp in New Hampshire, was an adjunct Assistant Professor at Pace University and Adjunct Faculty member at Regis College where she taught nursing. A life-long learner, she received her BA in Nursing from Columbia University, Master of Science in Nursing from New York University, and Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.

Christine loved the sea. She spent her entire life sailing; as a teenager she sailed competitively in Marblehead, she crewed sailboats all over the world, and spent her final summers sailing with partner David and friends on Cape Cod and throughout New England. She also loved to travel and cruise – most recently spending time in Hawaii, Costa Rica, the Caribbean and Italy. She was active in her winter-time community of Boca Raton, FL where she leaves many cherished friends.  Christine was loved and admired by all who knew her and especially by her family - whom she treasured most in this world.

Visiting hours will be held at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd, Lexington on August 9th from 4 to 6 PM. Memorial service will be held August 10th at Pilgrim Church, 55 Coolidge Ave., Lexington at 9:30 AM.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Private interment at Westview Cemetery, Lexington. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
