Claire M. Martin, of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, June 20th.  She was 85.  Born in Somerville, she was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Desmond)Dawson.

Claire was devoted to her family. Whether it was a holiday, birthday party or just a Saturday night dinner from the Chateau, spending time with her family was what she loved the most.  She was a loving "Nana" to her 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.  Claire enjoyed vacationing on the Cape with her husband Richard.  There was always room for anyone else who was able to join them!  Ice cream was always included.

Claire worked for the Catholic Church for over 20 years.  Most recently she worked at Sacred Heart and St. Brigid Parishes in Lexington.  Claire and Richard enjoyed traveling the globe with their church friends and always looked forward to their next adventure.

Claire was the loving mother of Patricia Coppola and her husband David of Reading, Nancy Manfredi and her husband Mark of West Newbury, Donna Synan and her husband Michael of Lexington, and Michelle Cain and her husband Christopher of Londonderry, NH. Devoted sister of Mary Dawson of Londonderry, NH. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, David, Kyle and his wife Hannah, Lauren and her fiancé Brian, Nick, Matt, Megan, Kerry, Jen, Dan and his wife Sarah, Jason, and Joey, and by 1 great grandchild, Leo.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Claire's family on Monday, June 26 from 9:30 to 10:45, at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 11:00.  Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
