Courtney Nicole Gill, of Lexington, Massachusetts died Friday, April 1, 2022, of an accidental drug overdose after a hard-fought battle with addiction. Courtney was born on April 8, 1992 and was excited to celebrate her 30 ^th birthday and the promise of what life held ahead.

Courtney grew up in Lexington and graduated from Hyde School in Woodstock, Connecticut. She attended Clark College and Worcester State University.

Born an Aries and named after her maternal grandmother, Alice Courtney Palm, Courtney prided herself on the strong qualities associated with her zodiac sign. She was determined, proud, and brave. She had a big presence and could light up a room.

Courtney was a natural athlete and skating was her passion. She spent countless early morning hours at the Hayden ice rink, and she became a competitive pairs skater. She had amazing grace on the ice and was beautiful to watch.

Courtney struggled with addiction through high school and college, but she did not give up hope for her future. She had a tremendous work ethic and recently obtained her license to pursue a dental assistant career. Working multiple jobs, she was also a talented and hard-working waitress and bartender.

Courtney loved makeup, perfume, and watching her favorite professional sports teams, the Patriots and the Celtics. Her cat Charlie was her world. Courtney also loved and cared deeply for her family and friends, and they loved and cared deeply for her.

She is survived by her devoted mother Cathy Woodward Gill and Cathy's fiancé Mark Tully of Lexington, her supportive father John Gill of Wakefield, and her treasured siblings Danny, Matt, and Sarah Gill of Somerville and Washington, DC.  She is also survived by her loving grandparents, Charles ("Bubba") and Jeanne Woodward of Lexington, her aunt Kathleen Gill and cousins Rachel and Andrew Palmer of Woburn, her uncle Nate Woodard, aunt Mary Woodward, and cousin Sophie Woodward of Georgia, Vermont, and extended family and friends.

Calling hours are Thursday, April 7 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 8 at St. Brigid Church in Lexington. Interment to follow at Westview Cemetery.
