Willard, D. Douglas (74), a Lexington, MA resident for 39 years, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 21, 2017. Loving husband to Teresa Willard (Szczypek), cherished father to Geoffrey Willard of Woodside, CA, and Stephen Willard and his wife Yekaterina of Cambridge, MA. Beloved brother of Revelle Dunlop and Maria Andrews, both of Seattle, WA, as well as nieces and nephews Kate, Miranda, Katharine, Ben, Gavin, Benjamin, and Jacob. Having worked as a Systems Engineer at The Mitre Corporation for nearly 45 years, he contributed to communication design projects deployed by US armed forces. A lifelong passion of his was music, especially the piano, and over the past few years he spent more time enjoying semi-retirement, becoming more deeply immersed in his favorite activities - traveling, cycling, jogging, attending classical music concerts, and experiencing new restaurants. A memorial service will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., Lexington, MA at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation hours are prior to the service from 9:30am to 11:00am.
