Delores C. Bengtson, 91, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 19, 1934 in Oakland, NE, the daughter of Ernest and Signe (Hill) Peterson. Delores was raised in Arlington, MA. She was a graduate of the New England Deaconess Hospital receiving her degree in nursing. Delores married Richard Bengtson on September 29, 1956 in Cambridge, MA. He predeceased her on July 19, 2010. Delores and Richard were longtime residents of Lexington, MA, where they raised their two children.

Delores was employed by many healthcare facilities as a nurse. She was fiercely proud of her nursing degree and profession. She loved to cook, bake, but most importantly her family came first and she was a true caregiver. Delores was an active member of the Trinity Covenant Church, where she had a strong faith and was known as the "candy lady "giving children candy at church.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah (Mitchell) Gustafson of Beloit, WI; son, Steven (Jacqueline Freese) Bengtson of Concord, NH; grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsey) Bengtson, Benjamin (Taylor) Bengtson, Thomas (Gabrielle) Bengtson, Jacqueline Bengtson and Anna (fiancé, Nicholas LaRocco) Gustafson; great grandchildren, Levi, Lincoln, Harper and Lily; and brother, Norman Peterson. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Glen Peterson.

A funeral service will be held Friday December 5th at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 11am. Visitation immediately prior to the service from 10am to 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Pilgrim Pines Camp and Retreat Center, 220 W. Shore Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
