DEGON, Diana H. (Guschov) Passed away on October 31, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Diana was born in Merrimac MA on February 2, 1947 to Dementian and Helen Guschov. Her childhood years were spent in Merrimac, and graduated from Pentucket Regional High School and John Robert Powers School in Boston. Diana lived for 30 years in Hampton, NH. Diana worked many years in retail at Artisian Outlets, Hudson's Apparel and Yoken's Gift Shop, all in Portsmouth, NH. Diana had type 1 diabetes, with numerous medical complications throughout her life. In 1992 she underwent a kidney and pancreas transplant at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her transplants were still functioning after 20 years. Despite her illness Diana had a full life. She enjoyed traveling to warm climates, spending time in Jamaica and the Florida Keys. She was artistic and enjoyed painting and needlework. Diana was a member of Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA. Diana is survived by her husband Steven of Bedford MA, her daughter Amie Deutch of Natick, MA ,her son Nikolas Gonthier of Hampton, NH, her son-in-law Zachary Deutch, three grandchildren, John, Grant and Natasha Deutch, her brothers Dementian Guschov and his wife Janet of Andover, MA, Victor Guschov of Salem, OR, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Monday Nov. 5 at Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Rd., Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, Sunday from 2pm to 6pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the NHSPCA. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac.
