Obituary

Davis, Dolores L. (Brasch) of Lexington, June 10, 2021. Beloved wife of Carl D. Davis with whom she just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Loving mother of Teressa Penney and her husband John of Dracut, Kathleen Davis of Wilmington, Mark Davis of Groton and his former wife Nelia Borges of Nashua, NH, and Sharon Hays and her husband Peter of Medford. Devoted sister of Pauline Brasch of Medford, and the late William Brasch. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren Kayla, Jessica, Benjamin, and Owen, and by 2 nieces, Christine Guido and Candace Mitchell, both of New Jersey. She also remained in close contact with family and friends in the York and Philadelphia area where she grew up.

Dolores's family was the center of her life. When her children were young, Dolores loved spending time with them and helped out with countless Girl Scouts activities, school field trips, and PTO fundraisers. As part of a tight-knit Lexington neighborhood, including the Borghesani, Chabot, Graham, O'Leary, Raponi, Sacco, and Savage families, Dolores oversaw many birthday parties, games of hide-and-seek, s'mores-making in the backyard fireplace, and pool parties. As they grew older she traveled with her children as they moved to different parts of the country and helped them set up their new homes. After her grandchildren were born, she delighted in spending as much time as possible playing with them, reading to them, and singing to them.

She also was very creative. She loved to paint, make beaded jewelry and cross-stitch but her favorite hobby was gardening. She spent hours tending to her gardens and even won an award from the Lexington Garden Club.

She was an active member of St. Brigid Parish, and enjoyed participating in their WINGS (Women in God's Spirit) program. She traveled to Ireland and visited cathedrals in Europe on a river cruise with this group.

A private family Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Brigid Church in Lexington, followed by interment at Westview Cemetery, Lexington.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made online to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/GiftFunds/GiftFunds?px=7078384&pg=personal&fr_id=39300 or mailed to 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
