Donna Marie
Keane
d. Dec 28, 2024
Donna Marie Keane, 74, formerly of Lexington, Massachusetts, died peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 28th, 2024 at her home in Ayer, MA following a year and a half-long bout with colorectal cancer.
Donna was born on October 7th, 1950 to Dominic and Mildred Collentro and was the eldest of their three daughters. She was a graduate of Boston State College and taught at Hancock School in Lexington before devoting her time to motherhood. Later in life, Donna worked for Pine Meadows Golf Club in Lexington for several years before beginning a 20 year-long tenure at Wilson Farms, where she was beloved by colleagues and customers alike for her sterling work ethic, her willingness to don irreverent themed costumes for seasonal events and holidays, and her tireless fundraising for Make-A-Wish, an endeavor of which she was particularly proud. Outside of work, she enjoyed learning about the colonial history of Lexington and Concord, and she took part in Patriot's Day reenactments on Lexington's Battle Green as a comforter of the fallen. Donna also loved gravestone rubbing, watching olympic figure skating, vacationing in Kennebunkport, Maine, and doting on her grandsons.
She is survived by her sons, Justin Keane and his wife Bethany of Littleton, MA and Jonathan Keane of Brattleboro, VT, her sisters, Deborah Bertazzoni and her husband Carlo of Burlington, MA and Dorothy Collentro of Somerville, MA, and her grandsons, Dominic and Lincoln Keane.
To coincide with the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington in acknowledgment of her deep, lifelong connection to the town, a memorial mass for Donna will be held at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 2001 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington, MA 02421 on April 24, 2025 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be held immediately prior at Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington, MA 02421 on April 24, 2025 from 9:30AM-10:30AM
