Tocio, Dorothea Patricia (Nelson), was born on March 1, 1925 in Boston, MA to parents Julia (Tobin) and Melvin Nelson. She died on July 19, 2018. She was preceded in eternal rest by her parents, her husband of 72 years, Edward, and her son Joseph. She is survived by her sister Shirley Busa, formerly of Lexington and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She was a loving mother to Douglas Tocio of Belmont, Cheri Tocio Klock (Larry) of Lake Forest, IL, Mary Tocio Grey (George) of Lexington, the late Joseph Tocio, and Julie Tocio of Goshen, MA. She was also a proud grandmother to Doug Tocio, Carrie Butera, Meghann Clark, Sean Klock, George, Sean and Jason Grey, and great grandchildren: Jack, Teddy, and Charlie Butera; Lily and Mary Tocio; Grace, Molly, and Charlie Clark; Kinsey and Ellie Klock, George and Louis Grey; William, Cameron, and Allison Grey. They were the love of her life! She leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Dot and Ed raised their children in Lexington and after retirement made Osterville, MA their home. While in Osterville, Dot was very active in her Parish Church, Our Lady of Victory, where she received the award for Outstanding Volunteer. She was daily found visiting, serving and bringing communion to the sick. She was also a Third Order Franciscan. Dot will be remembered for her gentle kindness, humor, guidance, wit, empathy, zest for life, and love of God, her family, and her friends. She was an avid reader and a loyal and dedicated Boston sports fan who dearly loved her Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday July 23 at Sacred Heart Church, 16 Follen Rd. Lexington at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation is also Monday at the church, prior to the Mass, from 10am to 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
