Obituary

Boggia, Dorothy M. (Harris) of Lexington,  passed away peacefully at home  with her family on April 29, 2023. She is the beloved wife of the late John A. Boggia. Loving mother of Cheryl A. Boggia of Litchfield, NH, John A. Boggia, Jr. and his wife Debra of Sandown, NH, Robert H. Boggia and his wife Merrie of Amherst, NH, and Carolyn M. Dooley and her husband Stephen of Lexington. Devoted sister of the late Ralph Harris, late Robert Harris and Raymond Harris of Florida. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Michelle, Heather, John III, Daniel, Robert, Nicholas, Michael, and Caitlyn, 4 great grandchildren, Seamus, Hailee, Samuel, and Andrew, and by many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy grew up in Malden, where she met the love of her life when she was just 12 years old. She became a Lab Technician and worked under Dr. Lahey until 1948. Dorothy loved the Town of Lexington and was the recipient of the Lexington Gold Cane Award honoring her service and dedication to the town. She was the chairman of the Minuteman Cane Committee  from 1988 to 2014. She was the co-founder of the Council on Aging and held a chair position. For 30 years, Dorothy Warden for voting elections at pole 6.

Dorothy had a love for crafting, and sending cards to all of her friends and family. She would design christmas cards each year and leave personalized notes to each person she sent them to. Her cards are one of a kind and took pride in each one that she created.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday May 8 at St. Brigid Church, 1984 Mass. Ave. Lexington at 10am. Visiting Hours at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Private interment at Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
