Dorothy C. Davis (English), affectionately known as "Dot", was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and so much more. On June 21st 2024, just as her favorite spring blooms turned into summer foliage, she passed away peacefully in her beloved home in Lexington, MA. She was 87 years young ("just starting to get old" in her words), and spent her final weeks at home surrounded by her most cherished loved ones.

She was the daughter of Catherine English (O'Rielly) and James English, and sister to Marguerite Gallagher and James English, whom she adored. She was a registered nurse, a profession she took great pride in. Her kind and caring spirit will live on through the many lives she touched. With her husband Robert E. Davis Sr. she raised 5 children: Robert E. Davis Jr., Robin M. Davis, Dawna A. Davis, Cynthia A. Walsh (husband, Lawerence Walsh), and Mark J. Davis. As the family grew, so did her love. She adored her grandchildren Thomas, Julia Rose, Jarrid, TJ, the late Allie, Dottie, Micayla, Shawna, and Sarah. She treasured her great-grandchildren James and Maverick. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dot loved celebrating special occasions with her family especially birthdays and holidays, tending to her flowers, walking the Marginal Way and the beach in Maine, going out for ice cream, shopping, bike riding with her daughters, cheering on the Boston sports teams, sewing & quilting, solving puzzles, reading, watching movies and gameshows, and daily phone calls with her daughters. She enjoyed living life to the fullest and spending time with loved ones.

She loved generously, laughed often, and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Services will be held at the Douglass Funeral Home (51 Worthen Rd, Lexington). Visiting hours are Thursday, June 27th from 4 to 7pm. On Friday June 28th, a funeral mass will be held at St. Brigid Church at 10am (from the funeral home at 9am). Interment to follow at Westview Cemetery (520 Bedford St, Lexington). Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
