Elaine Rothman of Lexington MA died at home November 29, 2022. Elaine was born December 12, 1926, in New York City, the oldest child of Samuel and Rose (Meyer) Kravitz. She graduated from Hunter College High School and Hunter College. Elaine and her husband Leonard Rothman looked forward to celebrating their 71st anniversary this year.

Elaine was a teacher and guidance counselor in Tenafly NJ. After retiring to Morris CT, Elaine wrote and edited hundreds of articles for local newspapers and had short stories published in the "When I Am An Old Woman" series. Her watercolors were inspired by her travels and her love of nature.

In addition to her husband Leonard, Elaine is survived by her sons Robert and Daniel, her daughter-in-law Lisa, and her niece Jackie Bianco. Elaine was loved by her three granddaughters and their partners, Sara (Colby), Emily (Matthew), and Anna (Noa), and her four great-grandchildren Samuel and Edward Sullins and Rose and Julian Balkam. Elaine was predeceased by her parents and brother Jack Kravitz.
