Eleanor A Lingley - February 28, 2025

November 30, 1932 – February 28, 2025

Eleanor (MacLean) Lingley (Age 92) passed away at her home in Lexington surrounded by her loving children.

Eleanor Lingley was predeceased by her husband Ralph Lingley of 67 glorious year. A proud Mother of her children, Michael Lingley of Rollinsford NH, Gayle Witzel of Berlin, John Lingley and his wife Susan of Sudbury, Susan Neff and her husband Eric of Westminster, the late Timothy Lingley, and Mark Lingley, and her late daughter in-laws Kathleen Kelley Lingley and Jesse Aikman.

Loving "Nanny" to her grandchildren Joe, Jennifer, Paul, Timothy, Caryn, Shawn, Lucas, Maggie, Chaim, the late Edward Lingley, and Jacob Neff.  Great Grandmother to Aviana, Jack, Emily, Andy, Rowan, Willow, Mason, Eva, and Waylon. An amazing Aunt, to many nieces and nephews and a loyal friend to all who knew her. She leaves behind many who have cared for her wholeheartedly including the world's most dedicated mail carrier, Dominic Corsetti.

Daughter of the late Horace and Eleanor MacLean of Allston.  Sister of Richard MacLean and his late wife Ginny, Donald "Spike" MacLean, Eileen MacLean, Jean "Peggy" Gallagher and her husband Bernie, Barbara McBride and her late husband Paul, predeceased by John "Jackie" MacLean, Neil MacLean and his wife Linda, Patsy Gray and her late husband Jim, David MacLean, Karen Lovett, and her husband Tom.

Originally from Allston, but a long-time resident of Lexington.  Eleanor had an open-door policy to all.  An avid caretaker for her children and theirs and anyone in need.  She loved dancing at a party or around the house.  Eleanor was a passionate fan of various sports, especially football, the Olympics, and a game show connoisseur.

She served her community as the neighborhood crossing guard, working at a nursing home, and the corner store.  With her fiery Irish temperament and sense of humor there was never a dull moment around the house.  She was content feeding and watching the birds and tending to her flowers, sitting on her front porch talking to relatives, friends and neighbors, and enjoying a good book.

Her playful spirit and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by many. Rest in peace.

Visiting hours are being held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 10:30am – 12pm at Douglass Funeral Home Located at 51 Worthen Road in Lexington MA 02421. There will be a short service at 12pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment to follow at Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
