Mann, Eleanor Frances (Ryan) of Lexington, formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2019 after a long illness. Eleanor loved shopping, knitting, cats, puzzles, and doing genealogical research. Her early passion for science and mathematics led to a degree in physics from Northeastern University and a career that started at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. She received her MBA in 1983 and then worked as a manager at several technology companies. She retired as manager of critical situations at IBM.

Beloved wife of Edward K. Mann. Loving mother of Michael E. Mann and his wife Maria of North Reading, Kristen E. Reed and her husband Lance of Lexington, and the late Steven R. Mann. Eleanor is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Cooper and Brodie Mann and Abigail and Brendan Reed, and by a cousin, Irene Coxall of Mendon.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 14 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
