COLLINS, Elizabeth L. of Lexington March 4, 2023. Daughter of the late James and Mary Ellen (Moakley) Collins. Dear sister of Martha Collins MD of Lexington and the late Mary T. Collins and James M. Collins. Aunt of Charles Collins and his wife Roberta and J. Michael Collins both of Texas. Cousin of Christine Desmond of Maryland, Mary Ann Ryan and husband Tom of Sunderland, Ma, Joany Collins and her spouse Karen Cleaves of Wells ME and Patricia Shanahan O'Connell of Framingham. Elizabeth was educated in Lexington public graduating high school 1960. She graduated from Newton College of the Sacred Heart 1964 and  earned Masters degree from Boston College. She then joined Jesuit Volunteer Program , teaching in Jamaica and Japan. She was a dedicated and gifted teacher whose career spanned 4 decades in Waltham with two sabbatical periods in Tanzania and Peru. She had a great love for gardening , travel and music.

Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington on Friday March 10th at 10Am followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church Follen Rd. Lexington at 11AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend . Visiting hours at the funeral home on Thursday 4-7PM.
