Mrs. Emily Lloyd Rockwood of Bedford, formerly of Lexington, passed peacefully in her sleep on the evening of Wednesday, March 12 at the age of 102. Those who knew and loved her will remember Emily as a tour de force of love and strength  - an extraordinary woman whose presence was truly one of a kind. A devoted matriarch, she embraced a life filled with education and travel, always seeking knowledge and adventure. She and her late husband, Dr. Wade Rockwood, shared a profound and timeless love story that continues to inspire their grandchildren.

Emily is predeceased by her children, John Wade Rockwood, Mary Lloyd Adams, and Emily Bliss Rockwood. She is survived by her granddaughters, Anna E. Ellis of Wilmington, NC, Emily T. Saquet Rockwood of Lincoln, RI, and Alexis O. Derby of West Roxbury, MA, as well as two grandsons. She also leaves behind six great granddaughters and a legacy of strong, resilient women who will miss her dearly.

A small service will be held at Carleton Willard for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Bedford Public Library in her honor.
