It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eugene Roland Luongo. He passed away on Sptemebr 6, 2024. He is survived by his wife Jeanne Cahill Luongo of Lexington, his brother Richard Luongo of Clemmens, NC, and his son and daughter in-law Anthony and Courtney Luongo of Bedford, son Gregory Luongo of Lexington, and daughter and son-in-law Theresa and Jeff Quinn of Framingham. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Anna, Caroline, and Sadah Luongo of Bedford, Emma and Kason Luongo of Acton, and Katie, Ryan, and Natalie Quinn of Framingham, and sister and brother in-law Anne and Bill Feeney of Holliston, and sister and brother-in-law Anne and Ron Cahill of Westford. Gene is survived by a wide network of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Florence and Generino, and brother Patrick Luongo, formerly from Lexington.

Gene was a 1967 graduate of Lexington High School, and received a degree in accounting from Northeastern University in 1972. He worked many years as an Accountant and spent his retirement years happily working at Home Depot. Gene loved spending time with his family and friends and was an avid baseball fan. He incorporated his love for family and sports by coaching baseball when his children were young and continued his role as a Little League Umpire until recent years. When he wasn't working or spending time with family he could be found tending to his garden.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday September 14 at Saint Brigid Church, 1984 Mass. Ave. Lexington at 10:30am. Visitation immediately prior to the Mass at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 9am to 10:15am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
