MATTHEWS, Frances E. (Hood) Of Lexington, formerly of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, died Dec. 19, 2009 after a short illness. For 65 years, beloved wife of C. Fred Matthews. In WW2, she traveled with him across Canada when he was in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Loving mother of John (deceased), William, and Susan Bell, and dear sister of William and Bruce Hood of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and the late Shirley Cheeseman of Toronto. She will be sorely missed by her loving grandchildren, Laurie and Brian Bell in New Hampshire, and Jeffrey and Kevin Matthews in California, and by her dear daughters-in-law Deborah Matthews and Marilyn Matthews. Funeral arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lahey Clinic, Burlington, MA, to the Salvation Army, or to Hancock United Church of Christ, Lexington.
