RYMES, Frank E. 86, a life-long resident of Lexington, passed away on January 23, 2015 surrounded by his adoring family. Beloved and devoted husband of Margaret A. (McEleney) Rymes, they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on October 11, 2014. Loving father of Diane Celi and her husband Michael of Westford, William and his wife Kathleen of Keene, NH, Elaine Celi and her husband Richard of Burlington, Julie Smith of Burlington and her partner Richard Barry of New Jersey. Dear and cherished grandfather of Steven Celi of Westford, Kathleen Sanfacon and her husband Matthew of Billerica, Joseph Celi and his wife Serryn of Billerica, Rebecca Rymes and her partner Kevin Grab of Jacksonville, FL, Christopher Rymes and his wife Elizabeth of Westford, Kristina Sanfacon and her husband Peter of Norwood, and Andrea Carruthers and her husband Joseph of Medway. Adoring great-grandfather of Isabella Sanfacon of Billerica and Lilianna Sanfacon of Norwood. Brother of Beverly Rymes of Lexington, and Carol Kirkland and her husband Frank of St. Augustine, Florida. Brother-in-law of Patricia Libby and her husband Fred of Deerfield Beach, FL. and James McEleney and his wife Jane of Woburn. He is also survived by many loving and caring nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Frank loved his family beyond measure and was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a U.S. WWII Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Providence in the Mediterranean Sea. He was an estimator and Vice President of Duval Sheet Metal Works in Lexington for 35 years and later enjoyed his work as a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Bedford for 15 years. The Boy Scouts of America provided the foundation for Franks' life. He proudly achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1945 as a member of Troop 23 at the Follen Church in East Lexington. He was the much respected Cubmaster of Pack 119 and then Scoutmaster of Troop 119 at the Hancock Church for many years. He shared his passion for scouting with all who knew him. He was extremely proud of his son Bill and his grandson Christopher when they too attained the rank of Eagle Scout. In 1982 he was the honored recipient of the council-level Silver Beaver Award. In 1988 he was again honored as the recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, an award reserved for those who have distinguished themselves on a national level 25 years after having attained Eagle. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, LEXINGTON, Saturday, January 31st at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Saint Brigid's Church, Lexington at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4PM to 8PM.
