KOURIAN, George "Bud" Frederick Of Lexington, MA, June 8, 1927 - July 18, 2010. After several months of failing health he passed quietly on Sunday at the home and under the loving care of his Daughter Valerie surrounded by family and his dog Sally. He married Barbara Ann Lufkin of Lexington in 1950 and they were happily married for 50 years until her passing in 2001. He is survived by 3 children and 8 grandchildren, Scott Kourian and his wife Kathy of Bedford and their children Preston and Katy, Debbie Saia and her husband Joe of Burlington and their children Laura, Matthew, and Stephen, Valerie Feuerstein and her husband David of Bedford and their children Michael, John, and Barbara. Born in Merrimac he grew up on a farm in Lexington on Grove Street near what is now Rt. 128. The child of George and Lillian "Parker" Kourian, Bud was a direct descendant of the revolutionary war Parker family who fought on the Battle Green of Lexington. He proudly served his country as a Merchant Marine in World War II. A mechanic by trade he trained at GM in Framingham and worked for them in Alston in the 40s & 50s. He repaired and maintained taxis for the Lexington Cab Company which was located in Depot Square in Lexington and was owned by his Mother-in-law Laura Lufkin. He went on to be a successful businessman and owned Bedford Auto Repair & Bedford Towing from 1959 - 1989. He was a Freemason and a proud member of Simon W. Robinson Lodge, AF & AM in Lexington, MA for over 40 years. Bud was a dedicated husband, family man, and friend to many. He was quick with a helping hand, a broad smile or a silly joke when you needed one. He loved working with his hands, tinkering with all things mechanical, gardening, fishing, camping with family and friends at Sebago Lake State Park in Maine, and was a charter member of the Lexington Ski Club. He will truly be missed. Visiting Hours at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Friday July 23 from 6pm to 8pm. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday July 24 at Westview Cemetery, 50 Bedford St. Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
