Kotelly, George Vincent of North Billerica, formerly of Lexington, March 2, 2025 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Shirley E. (Mullo) Kotelly, with whom he shared a devoted 65-year-marriage.  Loving father of Kenneth of Stoneham, William and his wife Ellen of Hollis, NH, Douglas and his wife Stephanie of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Joanne of Danvers. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Noelle, Elizabeth, Abbey and her husband Andrew, Sophia, John, Maeve, and Celia.

George was born in Boston, the son of Pauline (Pllaha) and James Visar Kotelly who emigrated to the United States from Korca, Albania.  Although he was an only child, he was raised in the same household in South Boston with his aunt Angelina, uncle Leo, and cousins Loretta, Arthur, Anthony, and Richard.  It was an active home filled with love, laughter, home-cooked Albanian meals, and frequent guests.  An honors student who excelled at chess, George played basketball and baseball, while also working at Joe's Spa with other family members and friends.  After graduating from South Boston High School in 1949, he went on to Tufts University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1953.  George proudly served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955.  He worked in the technical publishing industry for the majority of his professional career, employed at companies like Raytheon and Analogic.  In 1986, during the period of time that he was Editor-in-Chief of a prominent computer magazine, he was included in the Marquis "Who's Who in America" book, an honorary distinction for citizens who excel in their chosen fields.

George and Shirley married in 1959 and started their married life in Belmont, MA.  They then moved to Lexington where they lived for 29 years and raised their four children.  George was a dedicated family man with a strong faith in God.  He was an active member of St. George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral in South Boston for many years, often serving as an usher.  His hobbies and interests included reading, history, the military, Boston sports, music, movies, theater, and traveling.  In 2010, he visited Albania for the first time with Shirley and a group of other Albanian-American couples.

A proud patriot, George was a regular contributor to various charities, including the Wounded Warrior Project, Boys Town, and St. Joseph's Indian School.  Above all else, George valued his family.  Nothing was more important to him than spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

The past three years George and Shirley lived in a retirement community where they enjoyed making new friends and sharing stories with them.  In his free time, George wrote comedic plays.  He would gather fellow residents to take on the various character roles.  The actors would then perform the show to a grateful audience, soliciting much laughter.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 8 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 10:30 a.m. Visitation immediately prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Donations in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
