Russell, George Paul of Lexington, originally from West End of Boston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 4th, 2019.  He was 88 years young.

Born and raised in the West End of Boston.  George married his love, Georgia and moved to the 'country' (Lexington) to raise his family.

George owned both a gas station and Watertown Trucking Company in Watertown, MA as well as Watertown Sand and Gravel in Gardner, MA with his longtime business partner.

He was a proud, hard working, devoted, loving and selfless man who had an amazing mechanical ability.  He was also a character with a great sense of humor. We will miss his quick wit and banter. He was a good man.

In his spare time, he loved playing cards, collecting coins, watching his grandchildren play sports, watching the Red Sox, going to Vegas and helping his children with any projects around the house.

He served his country in the Army during the Korean War.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Georgia (Chirbas) Russell. He is survived by his daughter Dianne Murphy and her husband Philip of Lexington, and his son A.J. Russell and his wife, Karen of Winchester.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, July 9 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 9:30am to 12pm; followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
