ZGRIPCEA, Gheorghe (Gicu) Of Lexington, formerly of Craiova, Romania, passed away on May 18, 2014 with his family at his side. Born in Carpinis, Romania, on May 10, 1921 as the third son of Trandafira and Vasile Zgripcea. He is survived by siblings Constantin Zgripcea and Marie Maloi, his daughter Mariana, son-in-law Howard Bailey, grandson Sergiu Z. Troie and his wife Huicong Zhang, grandson Darius A. Zgripcea Bailey and great granddaughter Kalliope M. Troie. A funeral service will be held Thursday May 22 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
