DiRado, Giacomo was born in Filetto (Abruzzo) Italy, on October 2, 1942 and passed away at the

age of 78 at home, surrounded by loved ones, in Belmont, MA on March 15, 2021, after a 6-year

battle with cancer. He was born to the late Rocco DiRado and late Emilia (Tenaglia) DiRado. At age

15, he moved, with his family to Boston's North End than ultimately, they settled in Belmont, MA.

Giacomo is survived by his loving wife Rhonda (Paratore) DiRado of 46 years; his sister Maria Teresa

(DiRado) Passanisi; his two nieces, Lisa and Dana Bottega; grand-nephew Maximus Rittersdorf and

grand-niece Nicolette Sargeant, He was also survived by brother-in-laws Richard and wife Dianne

Paratore; Robert Paratore; Ronald and wife Lillian Paratore; sister-in-law Rosemary (Paratore) Briere

and her late husband Joseph Briere and many relatives here and in Italy. At the age of 19, Giacomo

became a hair stylist and soon after, he owned his own salon in Kenmore Square, Boston. He

became famous as the best stylist for almost 60 years--even deemed so by other salon

owners and experts. He had a clientele that came from all over the world and their loyalty was a

tribute to his extreme talent; he made styling hair into an artform. In 1976, he was chosen to style

every contestant of the Miss America Pageant and also to be a judge. Giacomo was a prestigious

member of Intercoiffure of America. He was famous for working with some of the world's most popular

super models and at the most prominent fashion shows, worldwide--he really was a true legend

and master of his craft. With great patience, he spent endless hours teaching his incoming stylists,

many of whom went out on their own to run their own successful salons. Having been born in Italy,

Giacomo never let go of any of the traditions that he learned as a boy; his family was his world. His

days were full of contentment, going from one passion to another, spending every moment with his

family. It was a joy to see four generations of family, working hard preserving tomato sauce and wine,

to last an entire year. He put the same dedication into cooking as he did to his craft--every meal was

an artful creation. Giacomo certainly touched so many hearts and always treated everyone with care

and respect. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 18th at St. Brigid Church,

1984 Mass. Ave., Lexington, MA at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Friends unable to attend may join a livestream of
